The stay was enjoyable, particularly due to the stunning views right from the room. I appreciated the breakfast, which featured a variety of items including fruits, meats, and breads, catering well to different tastes. The hotel is conveniently located near attractions like the East Iceland Heritage Museum and Rjukandi Waterfall, making it ideal for exploring the local area. The room, while on the smaller side, was clean and accommodated all our needs for a one-night stopover during our road trip.

Family with children who want a good breakfast
The warmth of the staff was really something. They went out of their way to help us when we faced car trouble, including a quick dinner with fantastic fresh pizzas from the restaurant next door.
It wasn't cheap but I found it acceptable.

The twin room was basic but super comfy, which was exactly what we needed after our long drive. The shower had great pressure, but no plug for shaving. What really made it was the food at Glóð, surprisingly tasty! Breakfast was a highlight, though double-check the times with the staff.

The hotel was a great base for our family adventures. We particularly enjoyed exploring Fljótsdalinn's beautiful forests, where we spent time horse riding with our grandchild. The breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day.
In my wife's opinion, the check-in experience could be improved.

The breakfast spread was impressive, featuring fresh pastries, meats, and fruits that catered to various tastes. I appreciated the option of soy and lactose-free milk, which is rare at many hotels. The staff at breakfast maintained a friendly atmosphere, quickly replenishing items. The attached restaurant offered fantastic options, especially the homemade pizzas. The room was clean and comfortable, though it could feel cramped for two adults, especially in the bathroom. I did have a slight issue with the shower having a sulfur-like smell, which was tolerable but still noticeable. The absence of soundproofing in the room made it challenging to sleep at times due to external noise, even with the window closed. Accessing the lobby involved navigating multiple steps, which could be inconvenient for those with heavy luggage or mobility needs.
