I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Valaskjalf. The breakfast was simply delightful, featuring a wide selection of fresh pastries and local products. The staff were exceptionally helpful, ensuring that my needs were met with a warm smile and prompt service.

The hotel is conveniently located near attractions like the East Iceland Heritage Museum and Rjukandi Waterfall, making it ideal for exploring the local area. The room, while on the smaller side, was clean and accommodated all our needs for a one-night stopover during our road trip.

We had a lovely time exploring the nearby Fljótsdalinn forest, taking in the stunning views and enjoying some horse riding. The breakfast was outstanding, with a huge variety of delicious options to fuel our adventures. Plus, we loved the cozy accommodations with clean rooms.

The warmth of the staff was really something. They went out of their way to help us when we faced car trouble, including a quick dinner with fantastic fresh pizzas from the restaurant next door.

It wasn't cheap but I found it acceptable.

The twin room was basic but super comfy, which was exactly what we needed after our long drive. The shower had great pressure, but no plug for shaving. What really made it was the food at Glóð, surprisingly tasty! Breakfast was a highlight, though double-check the times with the staff.
